General purpose couplings are designed to mate with interchanges common in industrial, automotive and instrumentation markets. They are typically used for connection to pneumatic tools and equipment. Parker's offering includes a range of products from rugged, economical manual-connect to feature packed push-to-connect couplings. Most are available with a variety of ports including male and female pipe, standard hose barb and Push-Lok barbs.

Parker's E-z mate coupling is designed to connect and disconnect at zero pressure by incorporating a secondary valve sleeve. The valve sleeve allows trapped internal pressure to be exhausted prior to disconnect thereby eliminating hose whip.
