Part Feeding Solutions in Robotic Systems Integration

Transform the Efficiency of Your System

Everyone understands how important the robot arm and end-of-arm tooling are, but people seldom bestow the same attention on the parts feeding system. That’s a shame, because the way the parts are organized and presented to the robot is essential to the success of the efficiency of the process.

Our trusted team has the expertise and experience to help you select the perfect part feeding system for your business, so read on to learn more.

Part Feeding Systems

Although traditional mechanical feeding systems are still prevalent, recent technological advances have transformed robot applications. There is now an ever-increasing range of adaptable, intelligent systems that can streamline the manufacturing process and reduce production times. While these new solutions are great for some businesses, they’re not right for all.

Demand for flexible feeding systems and bin picking continues to grow, but there are many applications where more traditional part feeding presentation methods are better suited to the job in hand. This means that, for many companies, methods like magazines, fixtures and vibratory bowl feeders remain the first choice.

At RG Group, we supply a wide range of part feeding solutions and our experts would be available to advise on which would be best for your project.

Two of our most popular are the Graco G-Flex parts feeding solution and Asyril’s award-winning series of Asycube flexible feeders.

Graco Parts Feeders

Automated applications that use vision-guided robots for manufacturing sometimes struggle to find the right parts feeding solution. Graco has come to their aid with easy-to-maintain flexible vibratory parts feeders that handle small-to-medium sized component parts beautifully.

Flexible and Reliable Vibratory Parts Feeding

Traditional bowl feeders have been costly to maintain and somewhat unreliable. Graco engineers developed a cost-effective, viable parts feeding solution that delivers both flexibility and reliability.

G-Flex Flexible Feeding

The G-Flex system delivers seamless part changeovers with a simple, streamlined set-up. Users can easily process a wide range of part sizes and shapes. As G-Flex provides a high tolerance for process contamination, this can even include dirty or oily parts.

Stand-Alone Package with Integrated Controls

With the amazing G-Flex system, one size fits most applications. Installation is streamlined by simply connecting the power supply and one PLC input. Adjustable part movement and speed automatically adjusts vibration frequency as recirculating table weight changes, which allows for complete control. Pin out/password protected access give added security.

When compared to complicated bowl feeder options, G-Flex is very affordable. The system can be pre-configured to meet the needs of most applications, and shorter delivery lead times mean you can start experiencing the benefits of G-Flex in your application fast.

Asyril – AsycubeSeries

3-Axis Vibration Robotic Parts Feeder

Asyril’s award-winning series of Asycube flexible feeders offers high-performance part feeding, pre-orientation and optimal surface distribution of bulk parts and components.

Asycube Advantages

All Asycube products are based on their innovative 3-Axis Vibration Technology. They are suitable for components from <0.1 up to 150mm in size.

Asyril’s standardized feeding systems are known for their reliability. The systems are also highly compact, which saves valuable factory floor space. They are typically used in conjunction with an industrial vision system and an industrial and collaborative robot, which gives users a flexible, state-of-the-art system.

The Advantages of Asycube

The parts feeder is compatible with all part geometries. 99% of parts can be fed on Asycube feeders, including those with complex geometries and delicate materials.

The system is flexible and future-proof, with minimum production changeover times.

The 3-axis vibration technology allows for extremely gentle part handling. Parts can be moved in all directions, including the optimal choice of flipping amplitude for each part. As parts do not need to be recirculated, there is minimal abrasion. Platform purge possible.

The system is reliable and durable, due to State-of-the-Art Voice Coil Technology, no compressed air.

Part detection is super precise thanks to the integrated, adjustable backlight and optional EYE+ Smart Control Systems. Systematic part orientation can be achieved with intelligently structured platforms (grooves, holes, nests).

The system is easy to configure with Asyril’s Feeder Control Center Software. Numerous software plugins are available for the most popular robot brands, which makes system integration simple.

The system uses standard communication protocols TCP-IP, Modbus, which simplifies communication with all types of automation systems.
