York-based RG Group has named Rich Freeh as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Rich was previously serving as the Chief Operating Officer. Rich has over 35 years’ experience in the industrial distribution and manufacturing field and has served in a variety of senior leadership roles in his 25-year tenure with RG Group. Rich is a native of Pennsylvania and he and his wife Jan reside in New Cumberland. Current CEO Randy Gross will assume the role of Executive Chairman of the Board.
Randy Gross commented, “We are all pleased to have Rich take the next step in his leadership of the RG Group business. Rich and I have worked very closely over the past 5 years in his COO role and I am extremely confident in Rich’s ability to provide the execution and strategic direction necessary for the company to continue its growth and maintain its exemplary standard of customer service.”

Michael Kays will assume the position of Vice Chair and Lead Director of the RG Group Board of Directors. Michael Kays is currently the owner of MJK Consulting, a York-based firm that provides strategic and operational guidance to business owners and executives. Michael has an extensive leadership resume, resulting from a career that spanned multiple industries located in North America, Europe and Asia. In his previous roles, he served as Vice President and General Manager for Carrier Air Conditioning, as Division President of Carlisle Companies for their custom fabrication groups and as Executive Vice President of Global Operations within the pharmaceutical industry. Mike has been serving on the RG Board for the last 2 years.
