Last week researchers at MIT combined VR and collaborative robot technology to create a new kind of use for robots, telecommuting for manufacturing jobs.
There is also mention of the gamification of manufacturing. In other words the same person sitting at home playing video games today could be getting paid to do that in the very near feature and actually be building things.
